Google Shopping Agency
Feeds First. Then Bids.

Shopping ads are built from your product feed, so a weak feed caps everything downstream. Enlightened Media manages the feed and the campaigns together fixing titles, GTINs and disapprovals in Merchant Center, then splitting products by margin so ROAS targets match what each item can afford.

Why It Works

Google Shopping Agency.
Done Right.

Shopping accounts usually go wrong in the feed, not the bid settings. Titles copied from the product page leave out the brand, size and material shoppers type, GTINs are missing, and part of the catalog sits in limited or disapproved status nobody checks. Then one Performance Max campaign gets every product and a single ROAS target, so high margin items and loss leaders bid the same way. Doing it right means fixing the feed first, grouping products by margin and sales history, and reading which search terms trigger your products.

The Enlightened Media Difference

What You Get

Everything Included.
Nothing Hidden.

📋

Feed Fixed Before Bidding

Titles, product types, GTINs, colors and sizes get cleaned up in the feed or through supplemental feeds, so Google matches your products to the specific searches buyers actually type.

🛡

Merchant Center Kept Clean

We watch diagnostics for disapprovals, price and availability mismatches and account level warnings, and fix them before a policy issue pulls your whole catalog out of the auction.

💰

Margin-Based Product Groups

Products are grouped by margin and sales history, so a thin margin accessory never carries the same ROAS target as a high margin flagship item that can afford more.

🔍

Search Terms You Can See

Standard Shopping keeps search term visibility and priority settings, so we can add negatives and steer budget instead of handing every product to Performance Max.

Google Shopping Ads Management

How We Run Google Shopping Campaigns

Google Shopping is the one campaign type where your data does more work than your ad copy. The feed decides which searches you can appear for, Merchant Center decides whether you appear at all, and the campaign structure decides how much each product is allowed to pay. Here is how we handle each layer: the feed, disapprovals, Standard Shopping versus Performance Max, margin splits, ROAS targets, and the search term and seasonal work that keeps a Shopping budget pointed at profitable sales.

Start With the Product Feed

Google does not read your product page to decide when to show a Shopping ad. It reads the feed. That makes the title the most important field you control. A title like "Classic Tee" competes for almost nothing, while "Men's Organic Cotton Crew Neck T-Shirt, Navy, Large" with your brand in front matches how people actually search. We rewrite titles in a consistent order of brand, product type, key attributes and variant, and fill product type and Google product category so the catalog is organized properly.

GTINs come next. For branded products sold by other retailers, a valid GTIN lets Google match your listing to the right product and helps eligibility. Custom or handmade goods can declare that no identifier exists instead of using invented codes. We also fill color, size, material, gender and age group where they apply, add sale prices and shipping details, and use supplemental feeds in Merchant Center when your store platform cannot export a field cleanly.

Clearing Merchant Center Disapprovals

Most disapprovals are mundane. The feed price does not match the landing page, an item shows in stock when it is sold out, an image carries a promotional overlay or watermark, or shipping costs are missing. Each one quietly removes a product from the auction. We check the diagnostics regularly, fix the root cause in the store or feed rather than patching symptoms, and request reviews when Google's automated checks get something wrong.

Account level problems are more serious. Misrepresentation suspensions usually trace back to missing return policies, thin contact information, checkout problems or claims the site cannot support. Some categories, such as supplements and certain health products, carry their own restrictions. We review the site against Merchant Center requirements before scaling spend, because a suspended account stops every Shopping and Performance Max campaign at once, not just the product that caused it.

Standard Shopping vs Performance Max

Performance Max can drive real volume, but it blends Shopping, Search, Display, YouTube and Gmail into one budget and reports less about where the money went. Standard Shopping is narrower and more transparent. You get search term reports, negative keywords, product group bids and campaign priority settings, which let you decide which products enter which auctions and at what price.

We usually run both. Performance Max handles proven products with enough conversion history for its bidding to learn, while Standard Shopping covers new launches, low volume items and anything that needs tight control. Branded searches need watching, because Performance Max will take credit for shoppers who were already typing your store name. We use brand exclusions where they fit, review search category insights, and adjust the structure when one campaign starts cannibalizing the other.

Splitting Products by Margin

A single ROAS target across the whole catalog assumes every product earns the same margin, and almost no store works that way. A thin margin accessory might need a high return just to break even, while a high margin item can stay profitable at a much lower ROAS and win far more auctions. Lumping them together means the account either overpays for the cheap items or starves the profitable ones of impressions.

Custom labels are how the split works in practice. Your feed carries five custom label fields, and we use them for margin tier, price band, seasonality, clearance status and newness. Those labels drive campaign or asset group splits, so clearance stock can bid aggressively for a few weeks while core products hold a steady target. When margins change, we update the labels and the structure follows without rebuilding the account.

Setting ROAS Targets You Can Live With

Start with break even ROAS, which is one divided by your margin after product cost, shipping and payment fees. Anything below that loses money on the first order. Above that line, the right target depends on whether you count repeat purchases. A store with strong reorder rates can accept a lower first order return than a store selling one time purchases, and the target should reflect that difference.

We set targets per product group, not per account, and we avoid switching a campaign to target ROAS before it has enough conversion data to support it. Early on, Maximize Conversion Value without a target, or manual CPC with careful limits, often works better. Targets move in small steps, because big swings reset learning and make it impossible to tell what actually caused a change in sales.

Search Terms and Seasonality

Shopping ads do not use keywords, but they still match to search terms, and plenty of those matches are wrong. A store selling premium cookware will show up for "cheap pans," replacement handles, recipe searches and competitor brands it does not carry. We read search term reports weekly in Standard Shopping, add negatives, and use campaign priority with negative keywords to route generic, branded and specific product queries to campaigns with different bids.

Seasonality changes everything about a Shopping budget. Gift categories climb from late October through December, outdoor products peak in spring, and back to school season pulls other categories forward. We plan budgets from your own sales history, raise bids ahead of a peak rather than after it, and use seasonality adjustments for short promotions so smart bidding does not mistake a flash sale for the new normal.

Google Shopping Agency FAQ

Common Questions About
Google Shopping Agency.

Management at Enlightened Media starts at $500 per month, with no setup fees and no long-term contracts. Ad spend is separate and paid directly to Google from your own card. The fee depends on catalog size, the number of campaigns and how much feed work the account needs. We treat feed and Merchant Center work as part of running Shopping and tell you up front if your catalog needs heavy cleanup.
Yes. Enlightened Media is based in New Orleans and manages Google Shopping for online stores nationwide. All of the work happens inside Google Ads and Merchant Center, so location makes no difference. Jason Stern personally manages every account, responds within 1 business hour, and works inside your own accounts so you keep all product data, conversion history and audiences.
The usual causes are price or availability mismatches between the feed and the landing page, missing GTINs or shipping information, image problems such as watermarks or promotional text, and products in restricted categories. The diagnostics section in Merchant Center lists the reason for each item. Account level suspensions for misrepresentation are different and usually involve return policies, contact details or checkout issues on the site.
Often both. Performance Max works well for products with steady sales history and enough conversion data, but it gives you less control over search terms and placements. Standard Shopping offers search term reports, negative keywords and priority settings, which suit new products, low volume items and tighter budgets. We decide by product group based on data, margin and how much control the catalog needs.
Start from break even ROAS, calculated as one divided by your margin after product cost, shipping and fees. Your target has to sit above that to make money on the first order, unless repeat purchases justify going lower. Because margins differ across a catalog, we set separate targets by product group rather than one number for the whole account.
Both, because Shopping ads are built from the feed. We rewrite titles, fill missing attributes like color, size and material, correct product categories, add custom labels for margin and seasonality, and use supplemental feeds when your store platform cannot export a field. Feed changes affect which searches your products appear for, so they are part of ongoing management, not a one time project.
You do. We work inside your own Google Ads and Merchant Center accounts, never a rented or agency owned one, so you keep the product data, conversion history and audiences if you ever leave. Terms are month to month and you can cancel anytime. If any agency refuses to give you admin access to your own accounts, treat that as a warning sign.
